High altitude diving

There is only one place on earth
where you will understand the real meaning of it!

In the Peruvian Andes thousands of lakes are waiting for you to explore them for the first time ever and set your personal record - a record not many will dare to break.

We are not competing for the deepest dive around the world.

We are offering the highest diving on earth!

Stefan Austermühle, Co-founder of Nature Expeditions, is one of the few people that have been diving in the Lake Titicaca , the highest maneuverable lake on earth in an altitude of 3812 meters. He and his wife Nina Pardo have also been the first ones ever to dive in the Lagoon of the Condores in the Peruvian Cloudforest in 2,700 meters of altitude.

Nature Expeditions invites you to dive the
limit of your computer!

Return with Stefan Austermühle for a dive in Lake Titicaca and find the worldwide unique Kayra frog and the endemic Titicaca lake sponge.

In order to take part in our High Altitude Diving Tours and Expeditions we do require you to be an experienced diver that counts with a certain number of logged altitude dives and Dry Suit experience.

We will also require you to undergo a special health check.

In case of a diving accident in the Andes no pressure chambers are nearby and even if there would be - transport would almost always result in the need to first climb higher crossing a mountain pass in order to get to the next town - an impossible option when you have a decompression accident.

Therefore our main concern is to AVOID accidents by firmly insisting on our diving procedures and by trying to sort out suicidal adrenalin freaks. Diving depths will be carefully calculated and dive profiles will stay well away from diving the depth limit. High altitude diving needs experience and reason if to be truly enjoyed.
