Diving spots in Pucusana

The coastal cliffs of Pucusana offer great diving spots. Huge crevices in the rock walls falling off 10 to 30 meters to sandy bottom as well as huge boulders and rock fields at the foot of the rock walls offer plenty of shelter to a great number of marine fish and invertebrates.

Point Chuncho in the northern end of the Island Galapagos is always good for a surprise. With regularity we can find here species that have been arriving with special currents and do only stop over for a few days or months before disappearing again. It is also a good spot to find morays and Roughjaw Frogfish, as well as a great variety of crabs. Link >>>

Deep Sensation is the wildest and deepest dive in Pucusana. Located at the oceanfront of the Galapagos Island even on calm days, strong waves are dashing the cliff. Nevertheless down in the deep a beautiful scenario calls the diver to explore the small canyons and spaces between large boulders. Link >>>

The Deer is a rocky outcrop that ascends from 29 meters of depth in order to just break through the surface. Diving down to the sandy floor and slowly ascending along the Deers walls one can appreciate the different ecological niches being occupied by marine organisms in different depths. Link >>>

The City of Morays is a unique spot. Huge horizontal cracks and crevices are the preferred resting spaces for the large Red Morays and Roughjaw Frogfishes. Two to three morays minimum can be expected. But so far, 14 morays counted in one dive, hold the record. Come and try to break it! Link >>>

The Golden Grane, being the southernmost diving spot, offers space for several interesting dives along the rock cliffs, while entering small inlets and exploring a variety of habitats like stone and boulder fields as well as vertical walls in different depths. Link >>>
